2000+ miles on the road (1800ish in my Insight, 300ish in Amanda’s CR-V), nine days, four states, two people andone plushie turtle later, the hunt is over. 233 miles/day average.
No photo, because I can’t remember where I put the Insight keys at the moment, but ~57mpg average in the Insight, ~26-ish in the CR-V. 200-ish photos, two dozen bottles of Gatorade... You get the picture.
The recap post on Instagram really summarizes our feelings about the adventure, but the TL;DR version is, it was absolutely awesome. 10/10, would hunt again.
Now, for the photo dump.

I love the pics and seeing a 1st gen insight still doing its thing.
The Oppo rally looks like it was a ton of fun

It’s the most fun you can have at 60mpg, and I’ll stand by that statement. Plus, I need to do something to offset the 242 and the Roadmaster.
As for the rally, it was a blast. Definitely the most fun “car” thing I’ve done in a while.

I didn’t stick around to find out. Pretty sure it’s some sort of Nebraskan cultural thing.

I’ve always liked the unabashed quirkiness of the original insight, but it has been a while since I’ve seen one on the road.

If you’re ever in KC, let me know and I’ll toss you the keys to mine. Hopefully by that point, I’ll have done a couple of IMA hacks to make it a little more peppy.

In normal times I end up there 3 or 4 times a year for work but no travel for a while yet.
Next time I’m heading that way though I’ll hit you up. I also live in St Louis so not that far away anyway and pass through KC anytime I go west.
